I have been retired for 4 plus years. Hunt, Fish, golf, travel, read, compute finally got seats in the dean dome after all these years. Keep up with Rankin, Noyes, Smith, Absher, Biggerstaff, Rooney, Nash, Eden, and others via e-mail and facebook.

Best memory is when I was a pledge we stole all the kitchen furniture, silverware, and dishes from the old green house. The brothers finally captured one of the pledges and we had to give it back.

Leon Dunn passed away in 2009. His name was listed in the latest newsletter asking the membership to choose the most interesting UNC SigEp in the world.

Summer '59

After washing out of Carolina in 1960, I finished up at UMass (Sig Ep Mass Alpha) in spring '64. 21 years of Air Force later, I settled in Yorktown, VA, retiring from my second career in '04. Recently widowed, I'm now spending my time trying to get my handicap into single digits and managing the deer herd on my little piece of VA woodland. I've often wondered what became of room mate Mike Rooney and Bill Stepp. Would be interested in exchanging emails with any of the brothers from the '59 and '60 time frame.

Class of 1961

After graduating in the spring of '61, I served in the US Navy for two years and went to work for the DuPont Co. I retired after 30 years in direct sales. Moved to Chapel Hill in 1998 and went to work as a courier in 2003 for the UNC Athletic Dept., the best job I have ever had. I got together with John Rankin, Frank Biggerstaff, Phil Nash and Jim Noyes, and all of the class of '61, several times a year. Also I'm in constant contact with Doug Squillario, Ed Riner, Henry Absher, Lindy Dunn, Bob Peebles, Carl Matheson and Dick Lowe.

I am running for the NC Supreme Court in the 2002 election. I will need and appreciate the help of all Sig Ep?s. I have been a judge on the NC Court of Appeals for three years having been appointed on July 8, 1998 and elected by the voters in the 1998 election. Looking forward to hearing from my Sig Ep brothers and seeing them at homecoming.

Class of 1962

Having retired almost 11 years ago, I continue to enjoy it very much. Too much to do, so little time to do it. I stay in touch with several brothers on a regular basis. Doug Squillario, Clark Smith and I frequently exchange e-mails and see each other from time to time. Clark stayed with Sarah and me when he came to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl this winter. I visit with Joe and Sandra Pool from time to time when in Charlotte keeping our granddaughters. We also see each other at the Dean Dome since our seats there are fairly close to each other. We enjoy our frequent visits with Lindy and Pattie Dunn at Haig Point on Daufuskie Island, SC, where both of us have second homes. We had not seen each other for about 40 years until a couple of years ago when Lindy bought his first property there. I just wish my golf game was as good as his.
