On April 8, 2016, Sigma Phi Epsilon joined forces with Phi Mu, the Carolina Unions Activity Board, and Chi Psi to host Bonnamu by the Bell, a philanthropic music festival, at the UNC Chapel Hill Campus. A total of seven bands and DJs came out to perform at the event, including Ramses Roots Revivalists, Time Sawyer, Campfires and Constellations, and Episode.

In addition to the music, there were several booths that added to the “festival” theme of the event. These included a raffle ticket station, photo booth, tie-dye station, and face painting station. Nestle, Dang Good Dogs, and El Molcajete all brought food trucks to the festival, so everyone was able to enjoy some great food as well.

But the highlight of the event came during intermission, when a patient from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals thanked the crowd for their support, and noted that the money raised will really make a difference at the hospital. The event raised a total of $8,857. We look forward to continuing to host similar events in the future.
